What is manual therapy?

Manual Therapy is a hands on approach to treating the body. Quite literally, manual comes from the Latin word 'manus' meaning performed by or with the hands. Therapy comes from the Greek word 'therapeia' meaning treatment of a disease, dysfunction or pathologic condition.

Simply put, a manual therapist uses various application of techniques and knowledge to balance the body by improving areas of restricted motion. The body is very adaptive. Some of the activities, postures and positions that we get into daily can cause our bodies to incur stress and lead to dysfunction.

Our bodies pump and drain fluid. We are a system of chemical reactions. Improving and normalizing the body's inherent physiology is a goal of manual therapy.

Our main objective is to help you feel better, to help you move and function better, and to reduce your level of pain and stress. Manual therapy is an important modality for achieving these goals. Each treatment is individualized to your specific issues and needs which allows for a healthier and happier you.

How much does it cost?

$125.00 per visit.

Do you take insurance?

No, but we can give you a receipt so you can turn it in to your insurance company. As each insurance differs, reimbursement will vary as well. Recently a lot of clients have started medical savings accounts and the receipt gets credited for their tax purposes.

Do you take credit/debit cards for payment?

Yes. We accept creditcards and paypal through our online scheduling and payment system. Click Here to Schedule an Appointment

What should I wear to be treated?

Whatever you are comfortable in, but I generally like to look at the body to see areas that are "off" and or adapting. A pair of shorts for men, and a hospital gown (which I provide) for women. Shorts and a jog bra are fine as well.
